For the individual consumer, getting a good insurance quote can be a surprisingly difficult task. When I was first old enough to require my own insurance and I asked my parents about how to go about finding a good insurance quote, they would tell me about the good old days when you simply had to call your local bank or insurance company and would be able to take care of everything quickly and easily. Apparently, they used to be able to ask you a short series of questions and then immediately give you an insurance quote which was almost always accepted. The practices in today’s insurance industry are drastically different. To get an insurance quote you need to answer an almost endless line of questions, after which their response is usually ‘we will get back to you by the end of the week’.
Another feature of the insurance industry is that it is regular practice for consumer to try to get an insurance quote from as many different providers as they can. While this is a good practice today as it helps you find the best price, it is unbelievably time consuming answering the same list of questions that many times. Consumers now have the option of using an online service where you enter your information and they will give you an insurance quote from several different agents. Some of these services will certainly give you a good selection for your insurance quote. Unfortunately, many of them will not give you much more than a lot of upcoming junk mail.
